I do hereby assume any and all liability for any property damage to the building, property (including the stage), furniture, fixtures, or other equipment to the above named facility which are the property of the Bay St. Louis-Waveland School District. The organization further agrees to pay promptly, on demand, for any damage caused during use by said organization.
Any organization or individual using a school facility shall hold the Bay St. Louis-Waveland School District, its governing board, and all district officers and employees free and blameless from any loss, damage, liability, cost, or expense that may arise during or be caused in any way by such use or occupancy of the facility.
It is further understood that the organization using the school facility shall be responsible for the conduct of persons in attendance and that tobacco products, alcohol, illegal drugs, firearms, weapons, or fireworks are strictly prohibited on school property or in school buildings. My signature indicates acknowledgement and understanding of the facility rental fees and agreement to the restrictions as stated.
For events open to the general public, the user may not discriminate in regard to admission on the basis of race, sex, religion, color, national origin, or disability.
Events with less than 150 persons require one certified security officer. Events with more than 150 persons require a minimum of two certified security officers. Security must be on duty one hour prior to an event and one hour following the event. Rehearsals are excluded from this requirement unless such rehearsals are opened for the public to attend. The district reserves the right to require additional or fewer security officers if deemed necessary by the school district.
Insurance Requirements:
Anyone using a Bay St. Louis-Waveland School District facility must have a public liability insurance policy with a minimum coverage of $1,000,000 for bodily injury and property damage. This policy must remain active for the full duration of the facility's use, with very few exceptions.
You must provide a valid Certificate of Insurance from an insurer licensed in Mississippi. This certificate must name the Bay St. Louis-Waveland School District School Board as an insured or an additional insured. It must also clearly state the policy limits, coverage type, dates of coverage, and be properly signed.
No activity—including setup, rehearsals, or the event itself—can begin until the superintendent or their designee has received proof of this insurance. This applies even if you've already paid the rental fees.
Obtaining this coverage is the renter's sole responsibility and expense. If you already have public liability insurance, contact your agent to confirm it meets these requirements before you complete the application. If you do not have coverage, you must secure it through a reputable agency before submitting your facility use form.
Fees:
*Processing Fee: $25
*Rental Fee: $100/4hours
*Damage Deposit: $200
*Cleaning Fee: $150 - Payable to Bay St. Louis-Waveland School District
*Security: $30.00/hour paid directly to the individual(s) at the conclusion of the event. All dances require a minimum of two officers.
*Event Manager: $30/hour. Responsible for opening, closing, and monitoring use.
*Light & Sound Tech: $50/hour
You will be contacted to provide a Damage Deposit once your application has been approved. You will also be provided contact information to arrange Security, Event Manager, and Light & Sound Tech(s) upon final approval. The damage deposit will be returned following the engagement, provided that all school facilities are left in good condition.
