Blessings In a Backpack

Dear Parent/Guardian:

Research shows that a lack of nutritious food in a child’s diet can make learning and participating in activities a challenge.  In these difficult economic times, providing nutritious food for children can be difficult for some families.  The goal of the Blessings in a Backpack Program is to provide students with nutritious meals to take home and eat over the weekend.  The hope is this will better prepare students for school on Monday as well as the remainder of the week for overall academic success.  Greene Central Schools will be working in collaboration with the Zion Episcopal Church to support this program.

Every student in grades UPK-12th will be receiving this letter.  Every student that signs up will be receiving a bag of non-perishable food each week.  The bag of food will be dispensed in a discreet and caring manner.  This program will run for the entire school year and there is no cost associated with it.  If you feel this program will be a benefit to your child/family, please complete the form below and return the letter to the school office.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Pam Bailey, our School Nurse at 656-4024.  Thank you!

If you chose yes, please complete the below information.
